As a Professor of Surgery and Chair of the Research Committee of Surgery at The University of Melbourne, Professor Perini is also a Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) & Liver and Multi-Visceral Transplant Surgeon at Austin Hospital and a Liver Transplant Surgeon at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), he combines advanced surgical expertise with the latest medical advancements. He specializes in complex oncological procedures, including multi-organ and vascular reconstruction, as well as gallbladder and HPB surgeries, being an expert in both open and minimally invasive surgery.
Beyond surgery, Professor Perini is a dedicated researcher and educator. Holding a PhD and a Master’s in Science, he actively contributes to advancements in HPB surgery worldwide. As the Director of the HPB and Liver Transplantation Fellowship Program at Austin Hospital, he also plays a key role in mentoring future specialists and ensuring high standards of surgical care.
